Therapeutic Process
The number of sessions that it takes is difficult to define. It depends on how much change you want and what is not working for you in your family. Without taking sides, we explore the family issues, how they impact on the individual, and how that affects the dynamics of the family as a whole.
Generally, the therapy process may consist of:
- Making sense of symptoms and behaviours in the context of your situation.
- Correcting any dysfunctional family structure.
- Developing relationship and communication skills.
- Improving parenting skills.
- Re-working undesirable patterns or ways of functioning.
- Learning to care better for yourself as individuals and each other.
- Learning to accept difference and things that cannot be changed.
- Discovering new ways to connect, enjoy and love each other.
- Creating and building a satisfying, resilient and secure family life.
